We were unfortunate again yesterday on our Free Pick. Monday it was the Mets blowing the 5-0 lead, Tuesday it was the Giants bullpen giving up the 5-4 lead by giving up 6 runs in the bottom of the ninth.
Tonight we look to rebound from the mess that have been our free picks. We'll be looking at the Cubs vs. Braves. In last nights match up the Braves came storming back on a ninth inning home run by Jeff Francoeur to win the game. The Braves went on to win 6-5.
Tonight we will have a solid pitching duel going with Lilly vs. Lowe. Lilly who has a 1.29 ERA at home has an opposite 6.14 ERA and 2-3 record away from home. He also has not benefited from pitching at night with a 4.46 ERA. He had a 4.97 ERA in his last 2 starts vs. ATL last year. I look for him to struggle a bit against the Braves who are scoring 6.45 runs per 9 innings at home against LHP with a .291 average.
Lowe on the other hand has a 2-1 record at home with a 3.30 era and has been more consistent no matter where he pitches. He has a .94 whip and a 2.82 ERA in his last 3 starts and I think the Braves will certainly thrive off last nights come back win. We saw the same thing when the Orioles came from an 8-3 deficit to beat the Blue Jays in extra innings. The Orioles went on to win 2 game straight in the middle of a 5 game winning streak.
